Folks,

Just a reminder that if you haven't updated your Coyote Library
in awhile, this would be a good time to do so. There have been
many changes in the mapping routines in the past few weeks as
I have been concentrating on map work in my job. And, JD
even found a bug in cgImage, which has been fixed. You can
find the latest version of the Library here:

http://www.idlcoyote.com/programs/zip_files/coyoteprograms.z ip

Or, here:

http://idl-coyote.googlecode.com/

I have added several new articles in the past week. Those
of you struggling as I did (four days of effort!) to navigate
images with the new IDL 8.2 Map function will appreciate this
article on how it *can* be done (despite what you thought
at the end of day three!):

I have also introduced a new Coyote Graphics map program,
named cgWarpToMap, that implements a Map_Patch like functionality.
That is, you can specify your data as one or two dimensional
arrays, in which each point is associated with a latitude and
longitude value. The resulting warped or gridded array can
easily be displayed on a map. This article explains how the
new program can be used:

If you run the program accompanying the article, you will
*definitely* need to update your Coyote Library!

Cheers,

David
