Ok, this is not strictly idl related, but I hope someone might have some
experience with my problem.
I have idl4.0.1 on windows95 and produce printouts on an hp deskjet
660Cse.
To produce high quality plots, I generate a .ps file, read it into
ghostview(V2.1)/script(V4.03), and then send it to the printer. It does
print but with some problems.
The thickness of the curves depends on the angle of the curve. For
nearly horizontal and vertical (+-15deg), the curve is thin. For other
angles, it is thicker.
I can correct for that behavior when displaying the .ps file onscreen
with the graphics alpha set to 2 or 4 (in Media, display settings
window). This has something to do with aliasing which I do not quite
understand.
This alpha setting does not propagate to the printer.
I have the printer set to cdj550, resolution 300x300.
If I use the 150x150 resolution, then the problem dissapears, but the
resolution is markedly worse.
Did anyone deal with this before?
