Folks,

This morning it was brought to my attention that
my snarky comments about Function Graphics is affecting
the tone of this newsgroup. Since I like to think I
play a large role in keeping the tone of this newsgroup
friendly and open, I wish to apologize to any and all
I have offended with my comments.

I have spent 2+0 years helping people learn more about
how to use IDL effectively and efficiently. When I
struggle for hours and days do to something that has
been touted as "simple" or "easy", and then I get no
help when I ask for it, I admit it pushes buttons
I wish I didn't have.

But, no one pays me to do this job. I've always done
it because it is fun and because I truly do like to
work with IDL and answer IDL questions. I don't have
to use function graphics. I don't have to write about
them. And, I certainly don't have to burden you with
my snarky comments about them.

I am sorry for all of that. I'm going to make every
effort to restrain myself in the future. Unfortunately, I
can't speak for Coyote, but I'll do my best to reign
him in, too.

Cheers,

David
