I was wondering if anyone knows if IDL supports multi-thread
(i.e., does it run faster on multi-processor systems). Is anyone
running it with multiple CPUs and compared it to a single CPU.

you have to do your own multi-thread by spawning some IDL - processes...

Connection is made via result-variables

ok.. it is not nice but it works...
