The !9 math font also has an "overbar" character:

p = plot(/test, TITLE='My Data !9`!S``!R!XAB')

That overbar character (the "`" character) is shifted a bit to the right, which is why you need to put one down first, then save the position, then put down a few more to cover your characters.
