Hello everybody!
I want to upgrade my IDL VM. I currently have ver 6.4, but need version 8.2.1.
I downloaded the installation archive for IDL 8.2.
How to install or upgrade VM only?
Linux system (Ubuntu).

Thanks.

Well, there is no download from Exelis VIS of just a VM. But, if you
have a full version of IDL you can use the MAKE_RT routine to make a VM
distribution. You can even make a cross-platform VM distribution:

On windows, it is not possible to install the VM only, you need to install the whole package. I'm not sure if that is the case for Linux too.

Rob.
