IDL 8.2.2 fixes workbench Java crash on Fedora 18 [message #83175]

8.2.2 came out on a very convenient day. I had been trying to figure
out why the workbench always crashed (with a Java segfault) on a newly-
installed Fedora 18 system, while the command line was fine. I had
tried changing the Java VM, messed around with libraries, to no avail.
Then I downloaded 8.2.2, and all is automatically well.

I am posting this for future reference, in case anyone encounters
similar crashes.
