You are right about the Numerical Recipes machine-specific
parameters. It is in the documentation, but since IDL 4.0
all the Numerical Recipes routines do not have the leading
'nr_' anymore. I never got 'machar' to work on an OSF1 plat-
form, I always presumed it was because of the 64bit platform
(which would make the routine even more necessary ;-)
