Ok I'm just reading the "old" post about this:
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!searchin/comp. lang.idl-pvwave/abstract$20classes/comp.lang.idl-pvwave/W9gP R7b_Ny0/ent-4mynaI8J

Quite instructive. I guess all people who learned objects with JAVA will
have the same troubles as I do ;-)

But don't try to search for "interfaces IDL", you might get confusing
answers ;-)

Is there a reason why IDL won't allow interfaces and abstract classes,
by the way? For simplicity?

It's not that I am really missing those, but it would make some aspects
of the documentation of library code a bit easier.

Search this group for "abstract class". You'll need to put some dummy data in it, unfortunately.

Wow! That was a good thread, huh? One of the classics. I should have
made an article out of that! :-)

Cheers,

David
