The Exelis website still states "IDL�s default TrueType font is 12 point
Helvetica regular."

And I confirmed that the default font being used is Helvetica (via the
FONT_NAME keyword).

BTW, how does one set the default font in IDL? There doesn't appear to
be a SETFONT command. Just a SHOW-one.

This font/margin issue only seems to appear with multiple plots/window.
When I do a single plot all the font sizes and margins are as they
appeared in my v8.2.0/RHE5 setup.

This'll teach me to upgrade two things at the same time.

Don't know. But, this *could* be the difference between Helvetica and
DejaVu Sans fonts. I can't remember what you moved up from or when the
DejaVu font was made the default.
