Hi all,

I have a plot containing a spectra with wavelength on X-Axis and Flux on Y-Axis . And I have narrowed the plot (using XRANGE) in such a way that I have only one peak in it with the rest of the flux being close to zero. This peak is due to the diffuse signal. Can someone tell me the procedure to calculate the upper limit of this diffuse signal ? I heard that it can be calculated with chi square method or something.

Thanks in advance.

Vivek.
