Folks,

Wow, that new ability in IDL 8 to subscript an array by -1 can be a HARD
bugger to track down when it goes wrong. :-(

I may have to put that one on my Most Pernicious list.

Cheers,

David

Is there a compile option to turn this "feature" off?

John

Probably. I just have to remember to put it into every program module
I've ever written. :-)

Cheers,

David

P.S. Which, of course, breaks all my programs and prevents them from
being run in anything but IDL 8. Happy updating everyone! ;-)
