Folks,
I have a need to build a Gaussian function this morning. I don't know
why, but I can NEVER remember how to do this. Apparently, certain facts
are incapable of being stored in my brain. (The latest example is "milk
vetch", the name of a flower ubiquitous around here right now!)
Anyway, I'm poking around for the equation, as usual, and I run into the
GAUSSIAN_FUNCTION function (who names these things!) that finally does
exactly what I want. It was introduced in IDL 8.1. Who knew!?
Now, what is the chance of me remembering GAUSSIAN_FUNCTION when I want
a Gaussian function? :-(
Cheers,
David
