Hello,

it might well be that this question is a FAQ; if so, forgive me for
asking this. I just couldn't find or remember an answer...

I'm searching for code to read WMO GRIB data into IDL. I know that there
are a couple of decoders available, written in either C or Fortran, and
I
would assume that the most reasonable way to solve that problem is to
use call_external or linkimage to call the appropiate subroutines (or
rather interfaces to them) from within IDL. Has anyone already written
such an interface? It would obviously save a lot of time if I wouldn't
have to write things from scratch.

Thanks a lot,

Chris Marquardt.
