Hello,

after I searched a lot, finally I found what I exactly want for my two variables x, y to have a density plot of them.

the routine is
http://www.astro.washington.edu/users/jrad/contour_plus.pro

but the problem is that I want to have a proper output with color bar and possible to save it in ps format.
I'd appreciate any help.

regards,
Nafiseh

Try PS_Start/PS_End, called in the same way they are called in the
density plot example in the Coyote Gallery:

http://www.idlcoyote.com/gallery/index.html#DENSITYPLOT

Cheers,

David
