Respected sir,
Is there smoothing spline routine in idl. In one of the journal papers that I have read. The authors have used spaps of matlab. But I want to use the same function, but since I have not used matlab and I am familiar with idl. Can anyone one of you who can tell me which routine in idl can be used as a substitute for spaps in matlab.

I found this routine online, although I'll note that the path to the file contains the word "obsolete" so perhaps there is a newer/better way: http://idlastro.gsfc.nasa.gov/ftp/obsolete/spline_smooth.pro
