Folks,

An aesthetic question, because I know you love them. :-)

My Linux box was recently "upgraded" to Fedora Red Hat 18, with Gnome3
as the window manager. Gnome3 is, uh, a bit of a shock after using a few
other window managers. But, I guess I can learn to love it, as much as I
can learn to love anything Linux.

But, here is the thing. When I started the IDL Workbench it looked,
well, anemic. I had to check which version of IDL I was running, because
this really did look like that IDLDE back in the good ol' IDL 6 days. I
mean, bad, really bad.

I presume this is NOT an IDL thing, because in whatever version of Red
Hat we had prior to the new one, the IDL Workbench looked OK. I wasn't
going to give up my Windows computer, that's for sure, but it looked
enough like it I could function. But, this thing...

Does anyone have any experience with Gnome3 to know if it can be made to
look, sort of, I don't know, normal?

Cheers,

David

Is it possible some needed JAVA library didn't get installed here? Does
IDL fall back on "generic" windows when it can't find the ones it wants?

Thanks,

David
