We had the same problem as well, on a PPro 200 running Redhat
4.0. Previous installation from the same IDL CD on a P120 worked just
fine. The problem is currently "solved" by using the IDL 5.0
pre-release, which works just fine. My best guess was a conflict with
the Moo-tif we installed earlier, but perhaps not.

I don't know *where* the problem lies, but it's not IDL. Works here
with no problems (2.0.29, too, on a P5-133).

What version of X are you using?
