Y-axis problems using cgcontour [message #85764] Wed, 04 September 2013 12:42 Go to next message

Hello,

I'm trying to use cgcontour to plot a latitude altitude cross section of temperature data. My altitudes are actually pressure values and I need them to go from 1000mb to 10mb with 1000mb being at the bottom of the y-axis. I know how to do this using cgplot but I can't figure out how to do the same when using cgcontour. I also would like to have a log scale if possible for pressure. Is it possible to do this? Thank you.

Sincerely,
Morgan

Did you try reversing your Y vector?

Cheers,

David

Here is an example of a plot that does what you want:

Great. Thank you. I will follow that example.

Sorry for the OT, but that gallery is a beautiful collection of plots.
It's been a while since I visited it - I was completely mesmerised.

cheers,

I'm unemployed again and apparently too old to be hired to do anything
useful, so I've been thinking about another book, the working title of
which is "Coyote's Recipes for Dramatic IDL Visualizations". My idea is
to explain at some length how the plots in the gallery are created using
both Coyote Graphics and (if I can figure this part out) Function
Graphics. Think anyone would buy it?

If not, please suggest a book you *would* buy. I'm looking for good
ideas. :-)

Cheers,

David
