I thought that the line
Idl.colors: -5

in my Xdefaults would tell IDL to use all but 5 of the available colors
(assuming xrdb -merge .Xdefaults).

Now when I try to do this I get the following error:

IDL> window
% WINDOW: X Windows resource "Idl.colors" has invalid value: -5 .

What am I doing wrong??
