After almost 15 years at RSI/VIS, I get to be a scientist again; I'm leaving Monday to start work at INSTAAR at CU-Boulder. I wanted to announce this because although I'll continue to post here, it won't be as the IDL product manager.

I'll always love IDL.

Mark, best of luck in your new job. I think there is no question that
having an IDL technical expert and teacher in the product manager job
led to you being the best product manager ever. Thank you for always
looking out for your customers. We will all certainly miss you in this
role.

Cheers,

David

All the very best to you, Mark. I've appreciated the helpful attention and the
straight answers that we have come to enjoy while you have been in this role.
Thank you!

Hi Mark. When I heard this from Jonghyuk today, I was very surprised at first. But no matter where you work. I wish you best luck and happiness. I remember when I was taking your incredible lecture several years ago. And also your warm hospitality when I visited Boulder this April. You're always my IDL teacher and also a good friend. If I had been bothering you with so many technical questions, please accept my apology :-) I guess we can still discuss IDL related stuffs even afterwards.

Cheers!

Best of luck, Mark, and very sorry to see you go. It was good to have
a kindred spirit as IDL product manager.

I worked as an undergraduate research assistant at INSTAAR long enough
ago that we were programming in the brand new Fortran77 using punch
cards on the CU CDC 6400. :-)

Enjoy your new life in RL1(?).
