Actually, there is no sun symbol in the standard postscript fonts. I
have wrestled with this for a while and gave up.

Any pointers appreciated.

I think you should look at the documentation
for DEVICE,/SYMBOL,FONT_INDEX=something and
then selecting font number "something", then try out
all the different characters. I don't guarantee
