Folks,
Some of you may wonder why the hell I'm still here. I was so discouraged
about being able to make a living with IDL a month ago I had pretty much
made up my mind to retire at the end of 2013.
But, modest amounts of contributions in December were encouraging. This
week I got the biggest contribution ever. Someone essentially sent me
the support check he would have sent to ExelisVis, reasoning that for
what he did he didn't need the latest version of IDL and that I provided
a hell of a lot more support to him than they did. Wow!
So, I'm back in business. For how long, I don't know. Until the money
totally runs out, I guess. Or, until a job comes along that is more
compelling than this is.
Just thought I'd let you know what even modest contributions can
accomplish. ;-)
Cheers,
David

While I was writing the title of the post, the ironic nature of the
question appealed to me. :-)
Cheers,
