Folks,

Fabien Maussion just sent me word he has completed his Ph.D. defense
last Friday and has had his paper published in an important journal.
Congratulations, Fabien!

I've just read through the paper now, and I have to say, the figures
(all done with Coyote Library routines) look fantastic. It honestly
looks like a collage of the Coyote Plot Gallery. You can see for
yourself here:

http://journals.ametsoc.org/doi/pdf/10.1175/JCLI-D-13-00282. 1

I know I complain from time to time about what a lonely and financially
disastrous life I've chosen to live, but, honestly, when I see something
like this, I do think every minute of it has been worthwhile. Thanks,
Fabien!

Cheers,

David

Yes, congrats Fabien. It looks like an impressive paper! Also, thanks for the mention of IDL in the acknowledgments. Just like David said, it is very rewarding for everyone on the IDL team to see that our work is being used for real-world research. That's what keeps me coming to work every day.

Good luck in your future research!

Cheers,
Chris

Hi IDL-fans,

thanks a lot for your nice messages. Next month I'll move to Innsbruck
for a post-doc. I guess nobody uses IDL down there but I'll hold on!

Cheers,

Fabien
