Sorry, I was so excited to make the post I left out what was in the eBook.

I go over how an IDL user installs Python and use Python terms in an IDL context.

I also talk about third party packages like Anaconda.

I then step through a large number of examples using Numpy and Scipy.

Next I get IDL to work with SimpleITK (http://www.simpleitk.org/) stepping through most of their examples.

And then last, but not least. I show how we can now call Matlab code from IDL using the oct2Py package!

The entire point of the book is to make the learning curve of calling Python from IDL as short as possible.
