Hello all,
I am trying to identify a certian type of tree called the elderberry which is native in northern California. I know vegetation identification is tricky. My plan was to take a spectral profile of an elderberry at a known location and then try to identify other pixels with similar spectrums. I am thus wondering whether this plan is feasible or is there a better option for me?
Another question arises about where I should get the data. I believe that Landsat's 30m pixel size will be to large for vegetation identification. I was thinking of using AVIRIS which I know is extremely expensive when you want to aquire new data but on the AVIRIS flight locater tool there has already been fly bys of the exact locations I am trying to study. Are these available to the public for free or at a reasonable cost? Thanks!
