PV-Wave v6 is supposed to support access to netCDF files through
its' HDF data interface. However, I'm getting the following error
message
% Illegal system variable name: !HDF_DEBUG.
when I attempt to use ncopen(). I think I'm going to have to
convince people to fork over some $$ for hard-copy manuals for v6.
In the meantime, can anyone point me to some (working!) PV-Wave code
that uses the netCDF/HDF interface.

There is an ncdump utility provided with both the netCDF and HDF
distributions, try using the one which comes with HDF.

me an e-mail...
Now I have a new problem: netCDF files created by PV-Wave do not appear to
be readable by anything other than PV-Wave. Trying to use the 'ncdump'
program only gives me the following
ncopen: Not a netcdf file
Anyone have any ideas ? My netCDF installation is v2.4.3, and PV-Wave's
HDF/netCDF module is v3.3...
