Research Systems is pleased to announce that IDL 5.0 is shipping. IDL
5.0 is now available for Unix, VMS and Windows. The MacOS version of IDL
5.0 is currently available in Pre-Release format, with final commercial
release projected for the end of May.
We extend our thanks to all customers who participated in IDL 5.0 Beta
Test and Pre-Release programs. Your hard work, comments and feedback
have contributed significantly towards making version 5.0 the most
robust, highest performance version of IDL ever released. We recommend
that you completely remove your IDL 5.0 Beta or Pre-Release
installation before installing the final release version of IDL 5.0.
Refer to the file rel_note.txt in the /info directory of the IDL 5.0 CD-ROM
for details.
