Can one point me to a program for labeling a set of curves on a plot.
What I am looking for is a fairly structured program that will do the
following:
-setup:
put up a title (like P(mTorr)) that will sit above the curve labels
-curve label:
as each curve is drawn, a call is made that puts a sample of the curve
(with the corresponding linetype, color or psym) and text
Ideally the position of the labels, width of drawn lines, vertical
spacing between successive labels, and things like that will be either
determined by a call to setup, or set via a system variable.
If there is not such an animal, I'll probably write it in a day or two.
If interested in it let me know.

Version 2 of GRAFFER will contain options to add legends to plots, you
specify the corners of the box, how many columns and which traces are to be
included. Currently release is being held up by the time it's taking me to
rewrite the documentation (there are a lot of changes from 1.05).
Stay tuned for more news: I'll try to get something out quite soon.
The GRAFFER web page is http://www.sr.bham.ac.uk/~sjt/graffer
currently it's all 1.05 but we've been using 2.00 locally without any
problems for a few months now so the software should be reasonably safe.
