Hello, I have some data of temperature and pressure as a function of the day , so I want to create a background that uses different colors to show where a season begins. So I can have a better way to show he relation between temperatures and pressure with the time of the year.
Any ideas how to do it using IDL?

-Thank you

I'd use cgColorFill. See many examples of background plot filling here:

Off topic (and apologies for hijacking the thread) but I do love that
gallery web page.

Not just the spectacular content, but the format as well - easy to see
the vast range of visualisation possibilities in IDL in a single page
view. I peruse it now and again just for ideas about different ways I
can plot data.

Anyhoo...back to regular scheduled programming...

cheers,

paulv

You know you're one of my favorite IDL programmers, right? :-)

Cheers,

David
