A while back I asked if anyone had or had seen a stick plot routine
for Pv-Wave (or idl).

For those who may not nkow what a stick plot is: A stick plot
is a time series plot where the quantity being plotted os a vector.
It is also sometimes called a feather plot.

The vector is represented by a series of line segments arranges along
the x-axis such that each line segment's length represents the
magnitude of the vector and the segment's orientation represents the
direction associated with the vector (ie up is north). These plots
are particularly useful for representing winds and current data.
