In order to invert a square matrix, why are INVERT (of IDL) and INV (of MATLAB) different?

How are they different? What data are you using? How are you trying to call the routines? What are you expecting for your results?

There are different techniques to invert a matrix. Try LA_INVERT in IDL
to see if it is the same as MATLAB's INV.
