My apologies for what is not an IDL question but I'm guessing my question is something that a lot of IDL programmers would know about....

I use nedit for writing IDL on a mac retina powerbook, running OS 10.9.5, Mavericks. I'm using a Logitech 507 wireless mouse.

When I scroll up and down the document I've opened with nedit the scrolling is a bit erratic: it might be 10 lines per scroll wheel 'click', or 20 lines, or 40 lines. This happens, for example, in the middle of a 2000 line document, so I'm not talking about odd scrolling effects near the start or end of a document. I never seemed to have this problem up until a few weeks ago, until my old mouse started to wear out and had to be replaced.

Is there someway to set the scrolling speed in edit such that, say, each scroll wheel 'click' is say, 22 lines?

Again, my apologies for a non-IDL question but I'm completely stumped on this one and it's more of an inconvenience than you would think.

Mark
