Description of problem:
I have an old heritage contouring program that is being called as a sub-routine to make a curtain image of Lidar Data.
This program runs beautifully on a PC machine after I set IDL to open in 256 color mode.
I also have access to SSH into a linux machine running 64bit Red Hat. I am on a Mac Terminal running Yosemite and Xquarts as my X11-window. When I run the exact same code with the exact same data the program yields a curtain image that is full of profiles of just random color noise.
I'd like to get this code to work in both environments.
What I've Tried:
I've tried running my Xquarts window in 256 color mode which yields other bizarre behavior of a squashed window image that is black and white.
I have tried setting Device, decomposed=0, pseudo = 8
I don't have access to the idl startup file as this is on a shared server with many users using the same startup configuration.
Does anyone have any ideas???
