Well, here is a weird phenomena. If I so much as unselect the
"Update Status for TOP base" button all hell breaks loose on
my WindowsNT machine. The program not only quits working, it
appears the the window manager has gone and forgot about it.
Even though the program is still painted on my display, its
not there! If I click someplace inside its former boundaries,
I activate what is suppose to be *behind* it.

The only thing I can do with it is exit IDL, but the
program ghost still remains on my display. Very disconcerting!
