I know this is going out on a limb here but here goes ....

I am looking to programmatically save/archive the current IDL/jupyter notebook. In a regular ipython notebook (ie, running a python kernel), there appears to be built-in notebook/magic command to save the current notebook ('%notebook -e foo.ipynb' - see http://ipython.readthedocs.org/en/stable/interactive/magics. html?highlight=magic ). Is there a way to replicate this?

Using the IDL to commands to do a file copy of the notebook does not the ensure that the latest output is added to the notebook file.

Thanks
