I have a routine called GRAYSCALE.PRO that creates a popup widget
that allows you to adjust the parameters passed to IDL's STRETCH()
routine. Not quite windowing and leveling, but provides the same
functionality. Some added features like reserved colors, and the
creation of a "split-scale" where the bottom half of the color-table
is a grayscale, and the upper-half is a "color-scale" having the same
intensities. I missed the original post, so please email me if
you're interested.

Go get the latest XDISPLAY program from Phil Williams.
I'm just out the door to catch a plane, but you can find
a reference to Phil's anonymous ftp site in the IDL Resources
section of my web page.

Cheers,

David
