Hi all,

I have just upgraded my laptop and switched to El Capitan. However I seem to be having issues with plotting images in IDL8.5, in so much as even for relatively small images (600x600) I get a lag effect on plotting and I can see the image being built from the bottom up.

I am using xterm and x11 windowing.

Only my old (and supposedly worse) machine I never encountered this problem....

This may not be an IDL problem as such, but I don't use much else with x11.

It's probably something to do with buffering but any ideas what the problem could be and any solutions?

Thanks,
Rick

Also seems to be much worse (i.e, slower) when opening a new graphics window

Just to let you know the problem has been fixed!

I was in contact with Harris and received this advice:
