This is good information to have. I have a license.dat file... Actually, the real problem is that the linux half of the dual boot which has IDL isn't accessible, if you try to boot in linux nothing happens. I had someone look at it, the way our (ex) IT guy set things up was unstable.

So... what I want to do is somehow access the linux half of the boot. I was thinking about copying the linux disk image to the computer: I'd delete the old linux partition, and set up a new dual boot, and copy the disk image into the linux half. Since the mac address I believe will still the be same that might work...

I'll give Harris a call too. Somewhat ironically, I got a job offer from them a couple weeks ago which I accepted, but this morning they rescinded the offer after it turned out I didn't have the security clearance they thought I had. Of course, I'd already given my two weeks notice at my present job. Fortunately, they're letting me stay on for a while yet. Much more than I deserve, I can tell you that.
