Hello everyone,

Maybe some of my questions are basics in you, Im just newbie in studying ENVI :) thank you so much to your help :)

I am having a research about remote sensing specifically in LiDAR.
I have produced 5 composite bands that I do in using ArcGIS. I will use those to classify forests types (Broadleaf Plantation, Closed Broadleaf, Mangrove Forest, Mangrove Plantation, and Coniferous Plantation). I would like to use SVM in my classification. How can convert my training samples
(shapefile) to ROI? What are the effective procedure to classify the bands I produced?

Thank you so much!

Hi,
maybe you can open the shapefile and try to save it as EVF (somehow). Then, you could build a mask using 'mask building' and the option 'evf import'. Then you can use the roi tool to import the mask as rois - maybe. BTW, you can download the EnMAP box tool set from www.enmap.org. A lot of different tools are integrated - e.g. some SVM, IVM tools. Perhaps, there are more easier ways to do it.

Cheers, CR
