I have just realized that the build-in stat functions need separate licensing. It's very disappointing to learn that IDL is not stat friendly.

I am trying to do some simple stat analysis like R2, RMSE, DF, P, and variance using IDL. I was wondering if you guys know an open source where I can maybe find the equations for the above.. I have no idea how to calculate those in IDL.

I would appreciate help of any sort. Thanks.

It is true that use the Advanced Math & Stats library requires a separate license. This lets one run programs from the IMSL (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMSL_Numerical_Libraries ) numerical libraries. (I suppose since there is a Python interface to the IMSL library that one could use the IDL-Python bridge to access it without a license. )

However, most basic stat functions are already available in IDL, without need of the IMSL libary. See
