Harris Geospatial has redesigned their Website
http://www.harrisgeospatial.com/ProductsandTechnology/Softwa re/IDL.aspx so hard-coded links to their Website might no longer work.
The documentation links
( http://www.harrisgeospatial.co/docs/using_idl_home.html) have not been changed, however.

Most of the Website changes seem to be cosmetic, but there seems to be a stronger emphasis on ENVI and geospatial products, and less emphasis on IDL as a standalone software.

The old site http://www.exelisvis.com/ seems to be in zombie state:

They seem to have made another change to their website sometime today as any attempt to get to the docs causes a 404 error. Was able to get on the site to check in the documentation Friday and a coworker was there this morning.

your original post's link to the docs is missing the m on .com but even typing in the link entirely by hand still gets a 404.

It was likely a temporary glitch.
http://www.harrisgeospatial.com/docs/using_idl_home.html seems to work now.

I'm still getting 404 (In font size 256 or so. No doubt there...)

This is insanely annoying.

Our folks are actively working on the web page transition. If links that were working begin to fail, please try clearing your browser cache.
