this is a little off the subject....
I am purchasing Lab View as a data acquisition and mechanical test
control package software. I would like to know if anybody knows of a
newsgroup that deals with that specific package.
If not,
Does anybody have a good idea regarding how to go about finding one.

Here is information on a helpful LabVIEW list, which has an associated
archive.
To post to the list, mail to <info-labview@pica.army.mil>. Administrative
issues such as SUBSCRIPTION and DELETION REQUESTS, as well as any mailer
problems, SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO <info-labview-REQUEST@pica.army.mil>,
not to info-labview or my personal account.
Hope this helps.

There are quite a few users of LabView in comp.sys.mac.scitech, so
if you don't find anything more specific you could try asking there.
