I just watched the video that Harris emailed to their customers to introduce
their new website. It doesn't mention IDL even once.
Instead it calls out "ENVI, Jagwire, Geiger-mode LiDAR ... and more."

This lack of emphasis is consistent with IDL's placement on the
updated web site. It's nowhere near the front page.

Compare that to the MathWorks website that trumpets the many benefits
of matlab and Simulink on the front page. This might not seem to be
a fair comparison because matlab is MathWorks' main product, whereas
IDL appears to play a smaller role for Harris.

Regardless of the explanation, it would be good for the continued
viability of IDL as a programming platform if Harris could find a way
to make it seem more ... important.
