Hi

I recently upgrade ma machine with Ubuntu 16.04. I am using IDL8.2 and the IDLDE environment is not working well. What I mean is that the IDLDE is launched but the main window is not display properly (no name on the tags for example) stuff like that. IDL help desk sent me a list of library to install (see below), whcih I did except for one "xlibxpm-d". But the problem remains. Some had a similar prb ?
Thanks a lot

Henri

sudo apt-get install libxp6
sudo apt-get install libxp-dev
sudo apt-get install libxmu-dev
sudo apt-get install libxmu6
sudo apt-get install xlibxpm-d
sudo apt-get install default-jre

Some of the libraries that are required to run IDL are no longer available in the repositories of Debian based Linux distributions (such as Ubuntu, Mint, etc). IDL 8.6 ships with the libraries that can't be found using the Debian Package manager and might help with this issue.
