Liam's solution to filling in the holes in reprojected data
works pretty well, except it only works for byte scaled data.
I have submitted to RSI and had accepted a feature request
that the built-in "DILATE" function be made float-friendly,
if possible.

At this point, Liam's slick routines at
http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/~gumley/imagemap.html
will be wonderful for anyone to use.

In the meantime, my large data sets and multiple projections make
Liam's solution to numerically expensive for me. Does anyone
else have any ideas?

thanks.
