Interpolating missing or masked data in IDL [message #963] Mon, 26 April 1993 10:58

I am using INTERPOLATE to do a bi-linear interpolation on a geo-located
grid, in order to create a slightly smaller grid. However, my grid has
a land mask built into it. The land flag is a unique value, but the interpolation
results in the coastal boundaries being extended slightly seaward in the new
grid. Has anyone found a convenient way to account for land (or for that matter,
missing data values) when running the interpolation?

Thanks, Jim Firestone
