Using callable IDL through a VB front-end [message #9679] Fri, 25 July 1997 00:00

I'm trying to drive IDL 5.0 through a Visual Basic front end. RS
provided me with code that has VB call a DLL that is essentially a
'c-wraper' for callable IDL. The IDL_Win32Init function fails every
time inside of the DLL. To compound things, I've sent the C++ and VB
project files to RS and they were able to compile and run the code
without any problems.

RS suggested I add some settings in my Win NT path statements to point
to IDL 5.0, VB, C++ and the directory where the projects are. Adding
these paths didn't fix anything. I'm able to compile and run the
callable IDL example off of the CD that is written completely in Visual
C++ with no problems. Has anyone else had problems using callable IDL
through a C++ DLL or have any ideas what my problem might be? My
versions of software are the following:
IDL 5.0
Microsoft Visual Basic 4.0
Microsoft Visual C++ 4.0
Windows NT 4.0

Thanks,
