We have idl 5.0. I need to create a program to graph points/lines on a
ternary plots. My interrest is gentics, but it is commonly used in Geometry
as well. Is there a particular place to start? I am new to idl but might
be interrested it using it if it will help me build this. If not java is
the current canidate.

Which rference should I lookin for building something like this?
