Draw the lines yourself. :-)

In direct graphics use PLOTS, which must have seemed like a
staggeringly obvious name to someone somewhere. In object graphics a
single IDLgrPolyline object will do the trick if you set up the
connectivity array (POLYLINES) correctly.

I reckon you owe me a walking pole.
